In the blender or even in a bowl employing a pastry cutter, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, egg, almond paste, and almond extract. Add the butter pieces and pulse or use a fork to blend until the mixture is crumbly. Press 3 rounded tablespoons a combination to the bottoms of 9 wide-mouth 8-ounce jars. 2Make the filling: In a separate bowl, mix together the cher- ries, sugar, and cornstarch. Divide the cherry mixture one of the jars, filling each jar to only beneath the lip. Mix the sliced almonds with all the remaining crumble and add 3 rounded tablespoons crumble to each jar to pay for the cherries. Pack the crumble mix- ture down lightly to help keep it in place. 3Place the jars Two inches apart on the large baking sheet. Bake for twenty five minutes, or before the tops of the crumbles begin to turn golden brown. Remove from your oven and let cool about the baking sheet. Serve warm or cold.
